 2003 STEVENSBLACKTONGUE
This is our Syrah release and is yet another inky-dark, dense and rich wine that will stain your tongue black. We think it is one of the best wines we've made year to date. The fruit was sourced from DIneen Vineyards in Yakima Valley which will soon be known as one of the premier vineyards in the state.
We produced 143 cases of regular bottles, 4 cases of magnums, and a few miscellaneous large format bottles that we donate to auction. These young vines yielded a miniscule .90 tons per acre while reaching optimum ripeness at 25 brix. The fact that vines struggled so much to produce what little fruit there was played a key role in intensifying the flavors. The other key factor - the majority of the wine was aged 21 months in once-used French oak concentrating the wine. Price $29.00 |
