2004 Yakima Valley Merlot

2004 STEVENSMERLOT

We produced 125 cases of the 2004 Merlot; 80% of fruit came from Sheridan Vineyard and the remaining 20% from Ceil du Cheval, both powerhouse growing sites. The combined pair, like drawing an Ace/King was unbeatable. The floral nose alone was beyond belief and one of the reasons we singled it out, not to mention that it was inky dark. The wine speaks of the wonderful qualities associated with Washington Merlot, jammy and velvety, but screams depth with punch on the finish. This is no Mama’s-boy Merlot! Don’t be fooled and say, “I don’t drink Merlot; it’s too soft and Plain Jane for me.” Price $25.00

2004 StevensMerlot, Yakima Valley
Dark, meaty and substantial, beautifully proportioned, and loaded with grace notes of citrus and pineapple that set off the tart, spicy red fruits. Elegant, sophisticated winemaking that captures both power and subtlety in the bottle. — P.G. (12/1/2007)
