2005 STEVENSBLACKTONGUE This is our 3rd release for the BlackTongue Syrah and we think that it’s the best ever. Once again the fruit was sourced from Dineen Vineyards in Yakima Valley and it’s ridiculously dark, living up to its tongue-staining name. As these young vines mature (planted in 01) they’re giving us greater extraction with more complex flavors. If you’re looking to go big, this is the wine for you. The 05 seems to be brighter and more fruit packed than past vintages, but still has some nice silkiness in the middle. The wine spent 18 months in 30% new French oak with the remainder in once and twice used French oak barrels to preserve the fruit’s true varietal character. We produced 275 cases. Price $30.00

2005 StevensBlackTongue Syrah, Yakima Valley
Dineen fruit, in a singular vintage, equals spectacular Syrah. This has it all going on—rich, luscious
flavors of berries and cherries, wrapped (soaked!) in chocolate, elevated with zippy acidity and
smooth and creamy as fresh-churned butter. Seductive doesn’t begin to cover it. You could take a
bath in this stuff. Yum! — P.G. (12/1/2007)
