 2006 STEVENSXY
This is the 4th release of our coveted 2006 StevensXY Reserve Cabernet. Once again, we selected a small grouping of our favorite barrels to put into this very muscular all Cab blend. We used more new French oak (80%) to drive the fruit and tannins. The result is a wine that accelerates you smoothly into the fast lane. The fruit for this years blend came from two sources: Sheridan Vineyard in the Upper Yakima, which brought lots of cocoa and black raspberry flavors, while the Meek Vineyard, Lower Yakima Valley, lent structure, earthiness and finesse. The combo creates a wine that showcases the Valley’s unique character. This is a go big or go home wine that can be consumed on release, but may also be cellared for years to come. 240 cases produced.

2006 Stevens Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve $42.00
The 2006 StevensXY Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve was raised in 80% new oak. Dark ruby-colored, it sports a superb nose of pain grille, spice box, mineral, scorched earth, black current, and blackberry. Opulent on the palate while retaining a sense of elegance, this full flavored wine is already complex and should be in full bloom in another 5-7 years of bottle age. It will offer a drinking window extending from 2014-2030.
